More expensive but then we weren't looking for cheap Italain food to start with but good food. Do youself a favor and go next door to Riccio's, a truly Italian restauant with style. All the subtlety of this flavor of salad lost! Perhaps the chef at Riccio's can teach them some techniques for Italian food. Ridiculous. No consistancy, nothing Italian except a Caesar Salad, warm lettuce, overly drenched in olive oil and garlic. And the other guests kept coming up to him to give him their payments. THe second bread we requested came to our table a bit warm. I would like to know what happened as the food was just a joke. One of my guests said "you know, there were 2 cooks and another woman in th back and I think they were trying to sabotage the manager and they were fighting back there.NOt sure what this man's title was.But he was the only waiter in the entire place from 1:45pm on.except for a bus boy. They came to get me at 3:30pm and we sat there and talked about the entire experience for another hour. I told them, " i will meet you at KOFFEE where I can get a panini like tuna sandwich".for $5.Which I did. My two companions just sat there and didn't follow me. He said "you don't have to pay, I insist".I said "I want to pay and leave". It was a laughable, horrendous experience. After over one hour, we got this! The man in the tie, came over and said quite nicely "you don't have to pay, I know you have been upset since you came here" I was so startled as if we were being unreasonable. I took the plate, held it up to the bus boy and said "please take this travesty away". An hour and 10 mintues later for this! Truly the place should be shuttered. And cold, and canned Tuna Fish! Unbelievalbe. All of it, not a panni but this must have been someone's idea of a joke. It was the saddest presentatio of food I have ever encountered. 3 plates were put down and on two sandwiches, no kidding were the same awful bread, with cold tuna from a can put on both sides and pushed together by someone's hand, it looked like.with some onions and capers on top and a dreary salad. If I had had a camera, I would have taken it for YOutube and flashed the world. We finally got our sandwiches at almost 3pm. Amazing bad manners in a customer service crisis. I looked over and he was cleaing the espresso machine and seemed to not care that we were unhappy. He was honestly aloof the entire time. Actually 10 more minutes went by.He didn't stop to talk to us about the debacle going on.

With everyone now gone and just us, this manager finally came by to tell us our food would be there any minute. I finished it and then we sat for another 20 minutes. So, I said outloud, " how hard can 3 sandwiches be!" There were about 7 tables when we came in. Finally after 45 minutes, he brought my Caesar Salad. As well, at no time did anyone fill my guests tea glasses and water. I saw him a the bar and motioned to him for another wine. We ordered ahi panini's and caesar salads. At 2:45pm, no food! He did bring us some bread, in a basket, just cold, tasteless bread and some olive oil pesto dip but by this time we had been there 45 minutes with no food. Finally at 2:05, the one man who was manager, waiter, bartender and all else took my wine order.

So he gestured for us to sit down, which we did. We came inside and I noticed only one man serving. So, we went next door to Aldente as it had nice table seating outdoors and inside reflected lovely light. In Palm Springs for lunch, we went to Riccio's only to find it closed for some reason.
